The Basque Government has been firmly committed to ensuring a strong Basque presence in European R&D since the start of the Framework Programmes. The Basque results in Europe have shown a steady growth in both returns and technological impact.
The launch of EUROBULEGOA as the coordinating agency for this strategy represents a fresh step forward, giving us the capacity for detailed planning, monitoring and correcting of advances, boosting European projects and technology agents, and helping develop Europe-orientated projects for our R&D programmes.
I am immensely pleased to see that between us all we have met the goal of growing by more than 30% in FP6 returns – more than €125 million – and that we are well prepared and in a competitive position for FP7.
