Eurobulegoa, the Basque Agency for Promoting International R&D, was set up in May 2004 as an instrument of the Basque Government’s Ministry for Industry, Trade and Tourism with the aim of implementing its policy of internationalising R&D with the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI).
Eurobulegoa’s main mission is to promote and advance Basque research agents’ participation in the European Research Area both quantitatively and qualitatively, in accordance with the overall strategic objectives set for each European Programme and the specific objectives for each Thematic Area and each kind of agent. The aim is to ensure the Basque Country reaches maximum competitiveness and excellence in international R&D.
In addition, Eurobulegoa carries out European Programmes connecting the 2006-2009 Science, Technology and Society Plan with other European governments’ R&D plans in those thematic areas that are of strategic interest to the Basque Country.
